It is hard for exes to hang out without it being a little awkward; even the cleanest of breakups is still a breakup. You can’t avoid that bit of tension when you see someone who you shared a bed with for years. Still, through all that, this now separated couple manages to enjoy each others company… Sometimes way more than they should.
Michelle, an early thirties raccoon, flops down on to the living room couch like it was her own. To be fair she lived here for six months give or take so it’s not that hard for her to get comfortable. “Soooo howya been? I’ve been super busy. I know I haven’t been making the regular events but I’ve spent all my time lately out with this crafty bunch and have kept super busy. I am making lots of awesome things.”

I sit in the old battered Chevrolet in the parking lot of the Colegio Militar, waiting for him to return. The air conditioner blows so cold it chills me, despite the sweltering heat. It's a miracle in a car this old.

When you work in a brothel as I do, you often find that your mind can be as valuable, if not more, than your body.

Reading 27 - Faora Meridian's "Poison" as read by Whyte Yote

One of the things I like to do after we read a story is go to the other and ask who one of their favorite authors is, and then we try to feature one of that person's stories on the podcast. Well when I asked him Whyte Yote told me that Faora was a perrenial favorite of his, and what's more he would be honored to read for us. Faora was willing, and Whyte did the reading, and here we are! The Scaleburn Tavern of Weregar Minor was famous, all across the Avanguard, for being one of the most violent, ill-reputable, dirty, dingy, nasty places in all of inhabited space. Mercenaries and assassins skulked in the shadows, smugglers talked up the ludicrous speed of their freighters, and pirates gathered to deal under the table. That it served the best Rhondan Marcerai in all of inhabited space was just a little bonus for Kiernan Treplin, as he sipped at the thick, black liquor.
